Darija HodkoDaria Hodko is a member of the San Bernardino Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Maestro Carlo Ponti Jr. She has also played with the San Diego Chamber Orchestra under Maestro Jung-Ho Pak, San Diego Lyric Opera Orchestra, and La Jolla Symphony Orchestra. In 2005, Ms. Hodko played with the Oregon Coast Music Festival Orchestra in Coos Bay, Oregon, which she considers to be one of the most rewarding and fun experiences she has had while performing. Some other highlights include performances at the Walt Disney Concert Hall as part of the Salute to Vienna concerts presented by the Strauss Symphony of America.Ms. Hodko holds a Bachelor’s of Music Degree in Violin Performance from the School of Music at San Diego State University where she was under the tutelage of Mr. Hernan Constantino. Prior to moving to California, Ms. Hodko was a student of Dr. Eugene Gratovich at the University of Texas at Austin, and attended Baylor University’s summer orchestral and chamber music programs where she studied with Dr. Bruce Berg. She has played in master classes for violinist Emma Rubinstein of the Oxford String Quartet, violinist Darol Anger, and participated in orchestral workshops held in Texas, by violinist Nigel Kennedy, bassist Barry Green; Maestro Otto-Werner Muller, and Maestro Nikolaus Harnoncourt, held at the University of San Diego. Ms. Hodko is a member of the American String Teachers Association and American Federation of Musicians 47-Los Angeles, and 325-San Diego. She also holds certification in pre-Suzuki training completed at Point Loma University, called “Every Child Can”, which is a program designed to help the very young begin playing the violin.
